Graduate assistants receive a monthly stipend in return for their
work. In 2007-08 stipend levels range from $12,820 (Level-A) to
$18,400 (Level-H).
Stipend checks are issued by the Marquette University
payroll office and are sent to assistants' departments on the
last
working day of each month. Most
stipends are paid over a 10-month period, 5 payments in the fall semester,
August through
December, and 5 payments in the spring semester, January through May.
Arrangements may be made for the direct deposit
of stipend checks into students' checking or savings accounts.
Students
should contact their department
offices
for direct deposit forms. There is typically a one-month delay before
the direct deposit service begins.
