A teaching assistant (TA) helps teach students in specified courses
and/or may be assigned primary responsibility for an entire undergraduate
course under the supervision of the faculty. Most programs grant
teaching assistantships for fall and spring semesters. Assistantships
offer 10-month stipends and full tuition scholarships for their
work.
Amounts: Stipends are $12,820 to $18,400 depending upon
the department and the level of the award. In addition up to 18
credits of tuition scholarship are offered.
Eligible Programs: All graduate programs.
Requirements and Restrictions: Students must be admitted
to degree programs by the date of the application deadline, and
be registered full-time during their award terms. Full-time TA's
are required to work approximately 20 hours per week in their
departments. Additional outside employment is not allowed.

and Financial Aid by the appropriate deadline.
Admitted students should request and submit a paper application
or apply
online by February 15 for fall, or November 15 for spring.
The Graduate School does not offer assistantships during summer
terms.
